FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Flint City Councilman Eric Mays, who was ousted from a month’s worth of meetings on July 31, can now join city council meetings despite being suspended by his colleagues.
A judge granted the permission on Wednesday after a request from Mays’ lawyers. While the suspension has been lifted, Mays must act in a professional manner in order to stay at the meetings and he is not allowed to interrupt the meetings.

The Council had voted to suspend Mays until September 1.
Mays is not a stranger to controversy or drama. In April of this year, Mays received six months of probation for disorderly conduct at a City Council meeting the prior year. In January, Mays was removed from a meeting after hurling racial slurs.
