RAVENNA, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A suspect is dead and a deputy is recovering following a shooting near Ravenna in Muskegon County early Monday morning.

The Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Joshua Hankins is in stable condition at a hospital after being shot multiple times by the suspect.
Monday morning’s confrontation started late Sunday night and involved a domestic dispute that involved an alleged shooting inside the home.
The Muskegon County officers, along with officers from three other departments pursued the suspect for 30 minutes. When deputies tried to arrest him, the suspect shot at officers and they returned fire, killing him.
