LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – After taking a hiatus from public service, former U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers has formally decided to jump back in with a Senate run.

Rogers said he’s “ready to serve again” and will run for retiring Senator Debbie Stabenow’s open seat in 2024.

“America under Biden and his cronies is going in the wrong direction,” Rogers said in a campaign launch video. “We can do better, and that’s why I’m running for the United States Senate. To get government out of the way, unleash American innovation and take common sense back to Washington.”

Rogers, who is a former F.B.I. special agent, served in Michigan’s Senate before heading to Washington for his 14-year stint in Congress.  He joins a growing field which includes Democrat U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin and actor Hill Harper.
