LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – New legislation is set to mandate lead filters on water systems in schools and daycare centers.
The bills, passed with bipartisan support in both the state Senate and House, are now awaiting Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s signature. Once signed, institutions will have 15 months to implement the filters. This move comes a decade after the commencement of the Flint water crisis, which gained global attention.
