EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A report concluded that disgraced Michigan State University football coach Mel Tucker violated the university’s sexual harassment policies with rape survivor and advocate Brenda Tracy.
MSU issued the decision on Wednesday afternoon. It said Tucker harassed and exploited Tracy during an April 2022 phone call where he made comments and masturbated. Tucker admitted it happened but claimed it was consensual phone sex.

Tracy said she did not consent to the comments or conduct and filed a Title IX complaint with MSU last December. The school wrapped up its investigation in July. When USA Today printed the story on September 10, MSU swiftly suspended Tucker without pay pending an October hearing. The school fired him before that hearing took place, which left MSU off the hook for the remainder of his 10-year, $95 million contract.
Tucker has 10 days to appeal the decision. After his firing, his lawyers instructed MSU to keep all communication about the investigation, pending legal challenges.
