WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) – The Republican National Committee (RNC) is demanding that Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson do her job and clean up the state’s voter rolls.

The RNC said a recent analysis revealed 55 of the state’s 83 counties have more registered voters than adults over the age of 18. The group threatened Benson with legal action if she did not purge dead or ineligible voters from the rolls prior to next year’s elections.

RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, a former Michigan GOP chair, called the voter totals “mathematically impossible.”

Benson is already involved in a lawsuit brought two years ago by the Public Interest Legal Foundation. It argues a similar claim as the RNC regarding dead voters remaining on the voting rolls.

Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee announced it will not be hosting any more 2024 presidential debates. The group has hosted four debates this year but said it will now allow other groups to organize debates.
