ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Ann Arbor for Public Power is releasing a proposal on how a city-owned, renewable electric utility system would work.
The group is made up of residents and organizations that want to move away from other power companies like DTE Energy.

The proposal calls for the creation of a Ann Arbor Municipal Electric Board consisting of nine members, that would create, maintain and administer a public power utility.
The board would create a budget, suggest energy rates and manage the utility while submitting some matters to city council for approval.
