GAYLORD, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A business in Otsego County is in hot water after deleting emissions controls on semi-truck engines.

Diesel Freak, LLC of Gaylord violated the Clean Air Act by engaging in this aftermarket scheme from 2015 – 2018 and must pay a $750,000 fine.

The fine marked the largest one related to the case, which resulted in more than $1.8 million in fines.

The company and the individual defendants pleaded guilty to charges of conspiring to violate the Clean Air Act.
