JACKSON, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Consumers Energy will be burying ten miles of electric lines in six counties this year.

Vice President of Electric Distribution Engineering Greg Salisbury said crews have only about 15% of its lines underground and burying more will help reduce power outages.

Over the next decade, Consumers plans to bury around 5,000 of its 50,000 power lines.
