LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer says the state is putting $10 million toward an initiative to develop a pipeline of skilled workers for advancing semiconductor technology for the auto industry.
Last year, the University of Michigan, Washtenaw Community College, General Motors, along with others signed a memorandum of understanding to form the Michigan Semiconductor Talent and Technology for Automotive Research and the funding will support the initiative.
Whitmer is currently in Washington D.C. advocating for additional funding for workforce development and economic investment.
