LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Kroger Michigan Division announced on Thursday a new three-year agreement with Local 951 of the United Food and Commercial Workers union, which will boost hourly wages by more than 9% and up to 25% throughout the contract’s duration.
More than 1,000 Kroger employees in southern and mid-lower Michigan will benefit from pay raises, enhanced health care benefits, and increased paid time off under the newly ratified contract.
According to Kroger’s news release, hourly wages will rise by up to 14% in the first year, with the company investing more than $8 million in employee health care and more than $500,000 in retirement benefits over the three-year agreement.
The contract applies to workers at 10 Kroger stores in Ingham, Saginaw, Jackson, Hillsdale, Eaton, and Clinton counties. Kroger employs around 15,000 hourly workers in Michigan.
