LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer did shots in a bar over the weekend while stumping for Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

She apparently told patrons “get out and vote” while a Trump rally broadcast on the television screen behind her. However, her actions are not sitting well with some. Ian Murphy, the owner of the Iron Pig Smokehouse in Gaylord, has gone several rounds in the courts over Whitmer’s stringent COVID-19 mandates in 2020 and 2021. He called her behavior “desperate, attention-seeking behavior.”

Whitmer has campaigned on the Harris-Walz bus tour around Michigan for the past few days. With two weeks to go before the election, both presidential campaigns will make Michigan, a battleground state, a frequent stop.
