DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – After six years of first-round picks for Detroit, the Pistons will not be vying for the top talent in the first 30 picks. Detroit sent its 2025 first-round pick to New York in 2020 as part of the Isaiah Stewart trade, and then the Knicks used it in a deal with Minnesota for Karl-Anthony Towns.
With just one pick in the 2025 NBA Draft second round, Detroit has the No. 37 pick (seventh in the second round). A mock draft has Detroit taking Kentucky’s Koby Brea, who averaged 11.6 points per game while making 43.5 percent of his three-pointers. He spent four years at Dayton before playing his final season at the University of Kentucky.

Other players projected to be at No. 37 that the Pistons may consider are Jamir Watkins (Florida State), John Tonje (Wisconsin), and Micah Peavy (Georgetown).
Yahoo Sports says of Brea, “Brea projects as a shooting specialist who has a clear path to becoming a rotation player because of his highly sought-after skill.”
The NBA Draft begins on Wednesday, June 25, at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC and ESPN.
