EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Becoming the 12th player under Tom Izzo picked in the NBA Draft First Round, Jase Richardson was selected by the Orlando Magic as the 25th overall pick. The former freshman was an All-Big Ten third-team selection and a three-time Big Ten Freshman of the Week. Richardson was the sixth of eight Big Ten players drafted in the first round.

Richardson continues the family legacy of being a first-round pick, as his father, Jason, was drafted by Golden State in 2001 at No. 6. Under Izzo, MSU now has 25 overall NBA Draft Picks, with 24 coming since 2000. Overall, 68 MSU players have been taken in the NBA Draft.

MSU last had an NBA First Round Draft Pick in 2018, when Jaren Jackson, Jr. was taken fourth by the Grizzlies and Miles Bridges was 12th by the Clippers.
