Angela Hall, chair of the Dickinson County Republican Party, said police told her the suspect said he attacked the GOP building because he was upset with “the administration.”

The Iron Mountain police department said Arcand told them he threw the Molotov cocktails to “send a message about corruption.” The Iron Mountain police department said Tuesday they have released any further information on Arcand.

Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who was the target of a kidnapping plot a few years ago, and Attorney General Dana Nessel, also a Democrat, have not put out statements condemning the attack as of 1 p.m. Tuesday.
