PINCONNING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – McDonald’s of Michigan and Mr. Chips in Pinconning have added a new twist on the motto “I’m lovin’ it.” The world’s largest restaurant chain just completed its annual purchase of 54.7 million pounds of Michigan cucumbers.
Those cukes will be used to make pickles and other McDonald’s menu items.

McDonald’s says it contributes $2.2 billion to Michigan’s economy, provides 42,100 jobs and generates $720 million worth of tax revenue statewide. McDonald’s Owner/Operator Shawn Saputo told the media that the fast food giant prides itself on working with local farmers to place high quality ingredients on the menu.
Mr. Chips has been a Pinconning mainstay since 1946. According to its website, “10%-15% percent of all pickles consumed come from Mr. Chips vats.”
