LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) The Lansing School District is seeing an academic comeback few could have predicted. Advanced Placement (AP) participation and success have multiplied several times over in just four years.

Back in 2021, just 134 students were enrolled in AP classes. This fall, that figure has climbed to 370—nearly triple. The number of students taking AP exams has more than quadrupled, and the count of students earning college-credit scores has risen from 16 to 118.

“These results show that when we provide access, encouragement, and support, Lansing students rise to meet the challenge,” Superintendent Ben Shuldiner said.

Everett High School led the charge, with AP enrollment up 470% since 2021.
