DEARBORN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – In early October, President Donald Trump supporter and conservative activist Mellissa Carone took to the streets of Dearborn to shine a light on what many feel has become the Islamization of the city.
Carone stood in front of a mosque and posted a video on TikTok during the Muslim call to prayer that happens five times a day, beginning as early as 5:30 a.m.

The reaction from many Muslim residents was to mock Carone. Some residents posted TikTok videos of themselves walking down the street saying the city was safe, despite Carone’s concerns. TikTok reacted by banning Carone’s account.
The same week Carone broadcasted the call to prayer, the FBI claims that two Dearborn men met in a city park to privately plan how to pull off a mass terrorist attack around the time of Halloween.
An alleged terror plot.
Dearborn residents Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud were both charged for their involvement in the terror plot on behalf of ISIS. The criminal complaint shows the group planning the attack had purchased numerous guns, thousands of rounds of ammunition and weapon accessories to allow them to shoot more bullets than a semi-automatic weapon would normally allow.
Anthony Deegan is a Dearborn resident who has lived in the city for more than 20 years. He attends the city council meetings and has spoken about how loud the call to prayer can be. He said he’s seen an increase recently in radicalism from younger Muslim men in the city.
“I think the radicalism in Dearborn is growing and is being fomented,” Deegan said. “It has been safe overall in the past. But the desire to maintain that image is causing people to turn a blind eye to the growing radicalism. The real question is how many more sleeper type cells are here in Dearborn, and is it being given space to sprout domestically and not just abroad? It’s a real concern.”
