LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Michigan Republican Party posted a clip of Michigan Democrat U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin saying she wasn’t “aware” of any illegal orders issued by Donald Trump.

“Michigan’s Elissa Slotkin now ADMITS that President Trump has not issued any illegal orders — despite previously and irresponsibly calling on rank-and-file U.S. military personnel to disobey him,” the Michigan GOP posted on social media. “This rhetoric is dangerous and must be condemned by leaders in both parties.”

In the clip from ABC This Week, Slotkin was asked, “Do you believe President Trump has issued any illegal orders?”

She responded: “To my knowledge, I am not aware of things that are illegal, but certainly there are some legal gymnastics that are going on with these Caribbean strikes and everything related to Venezuela.”

Slotkin was referring to military strikes on boats believed to be carrying drugs approved by the Trump administration in the Caribbean Sea.

In addition, Trump designated Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as the leader of a foreign terrorist organization, the Cartel de los Soles.

After Slotkin and other Democrat politicians urged the U.S. military and members of the intelligence agency to refuse any illegal orders, Trump called on those lawmakers to be arrested for sedition.
