Cortney Bartholomew, wearing a bright blue sleeveless blouse with her tattoos showing, sat with her arms crossed as the judge – appearing virtually from Missaukee County – opened the session.

The couple was scheduled to be formally charged, but the prosecutor requested a delay, telling the court the complaint was not yet ready. He also asked that the pair be held without bond due to the seriousness of the investigation which is most likely tied to the search of the Bartholomew property on Sunday.

The court agreed to the delay, rescheduling arraignments for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, where formal charges and bond decisions are expected. Judge Corey Wiggins- 84th District Court said on Monday, “We will go ahead and set up for arraignment tomorrow. The court in the meantime will hold Mr. Bartholomew without a bond. I do find that he is both a threat and a flight risk based on what I’ve read in search warrants. As such, we’ll reconvene tomorrow, see where we are at.”

Who is in jail and why?

Cortney is Rebecca’s biological mother and Brad is her stepfather – making them the third and fourth people in Rebecca’s inner circle to face charges. Rebecca’s fiancé Richard Lee Falor and her sister Kimberly Park are also at the Wexford County jail. Falor was arrested on unrelated meth-delivery charges and Kimberly for evidence tampering and filing a false police report.

On November 29, 2025, authorities confirmed that a body found in Michigan’s Manistee National Forest is that of 22-year-old Rebecca Park – who had vanished while about 38 weeks pregnant. The autopsy ruled out the presence of a newborn with the remains, leaving the infant’s whereabouts unknown.
