MSU officials said modernizing the facilities would provide “student-athletes the optimal spaces in which to compete and train, and the Spartan community an elevated gameday experience.”  The endeavor also includes a student-athlete dining facility.

Athletic Director J Batt described the project as the school’s most “ambitious” athletic initiative. “FOR SPARTA…will provide the resources and the infrastructure to positively impact the experience and drive competitive excellence for every student-athlete and every sport on our campus.”
