LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The value of homes in Michigan has jumped 48% since the COVID-19 pandemic started, a trend that has been mirrored nationwide.

The average home values in this state have increased from $171,085 in December 2019 to $253,279 as of October 2025. That’s a 48% increase when not including inflation, according to Zillow.

There has been a similar rise nationwide. During that same time period, the U.S. average of home values has increased 46%.

By county, the highest home price median listing currently was Washtenaw County at $460,000. Livingston County was next highest at $417,500. Oakland County ranked third at $399,900, according to Realtor.com.
