WASHINGTON, D.C. (Michigan News Source) – U.S. Congressman Shri Thanedar (D-Michigan) is being heavily criticized on social media for his performance during a TV interview with Sean Hannity.
Thanedar appeared on Sean Hannity’s Jan. 16 show on Fox News.

Thanedar has a history of perplexing performances during live interviews with opposition media figures.
Hannity chastised Thanedar for sitting down while President Donald Trump addressed the family of Laken Riley during his March address to Congress. Riley was killed by an illegal immigrant.
Hannity questioned Thanedar for not standing to honor the grieving families who had relatives killed by illegal immigrants.
“I did not the stand because of the president, I was sick of the president,” Thanedar said.
“You sat on your ass,” Hannity said, cutting him off.
While Hannity was hammering him, Thanedar appeared to listen with a smile on his face.
Hannity then pressed Thanedar whether he talked to a family had that has been a victim of an illegal immigrant.

At one point, Hannity told Thanedar, “You know, I could talk to you all night about the dumb stuff you say.”
Thanedar remained silent with a smile on his face.
Hannity then questioned him on voting against a bill that would deport illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes.
Thanedar said that any immigrant who breaks U.S. law should be deported.
Hannity pressed him again why he voted against the bill.
Thanedar said he didn’t regret the no vote and added no bill was perfect. Thanedar said there were aspects of the bill that he couldn’t support, but then said he couldn’t remember what those issues were when pressed by Hannity.
“The Michigan representative struggled to answer basic questions and appeared unprepared on national television, drawing sharp criticism as the interview aired before millions,” said someone named Digital Daisy on X. “Never forget about what he is known for.”
In 2018, Huffington Post broke a story that about 170 dogs and monkeys were rescued in 2010 from a pharmaceutical lab that Thanedar owned in New Jersey. USA Today reported that workers at the lab climbed over fences to provide food and water to the 118 beagles remaining in the facility after it was closed.
Thanedar had a bizarre encounter with Michigan reporter Charlie LeDuff back in May where LeDuff brought up the abandoned animals.
LeDuff approached Thanedar in an on-the-street interview where Thanedar again struggled to make his point.
“You are getting nailed with this one,” LeDuff told Thanedar. “The beagles. You abandoned the beagles and left them to die in the cages.”
“I love animals,” Thanedar said.
“Yes he does,” LeDuff’s dubbed over voice said. “He loves beagles to death.”
