“I ordered a high-powered ATL 36X arriving shortly, which I hope to actually use to shoot the president of the United States. I’m not kidding,” Arnold said while at the podium. “This is a very high, powerful item. It’s great for a headshot at a distance. I didn’t want it to be delivered by drone because I wouldn’t want something like that to be in the wrong hands.”

Arnold spoke with WJBK FOX 2 Detroit and said that his comments prompted a visit from the U.S. Secret Service and that they removed a handgun from his house.

Arnold told WJBK he actually referred to a long-distance lens for a camera and not a gun. He told the TV station he had no intent of “shooting any public official except with a telephoto lens.”

The TV station reported Arnold is 80 years old. Arnold said he would have to wait and see if he would be arrested after speaking with the Secret Service.

Trump has been the target of two presidential assassination attempts.
