LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Gov. Gretchen Whitmer announced on Saturday that she will declare a state of emergency for Branch, Cass, and St. Joseph counties following Friday’s severe weather through those regions.
“My heart is with the families who lost loved ones or were injured,” Gov. Whitmer said.

The Michigan storms knocked down trees as officials issued tornado warnings for the southern part of the state.
In Branch County’s Union Lake, the storms killed three people, injured 12, and forced three others to be treated for injuries at the hospital.
