AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Vice President JD Vance spoke in Oakland County on Wednesday, defending President Donald Trump’s economic record and extending support for Michigan’s Jewish community.
The vice president spent his fourth visit to Michigan delivering remarks at the Auburn Hills manufacturing facility EDSI.

Vance highlighted what he sees as the major wins of the Trump administration during the first 14 months of his second term. “We’ve got a lot to be proud of and a lot to build on and a lot to keep working on,” Vance said. He blamed former President Joe Biden and the policies of the former administration for continued high inflation, while acknowledging that the ripple effect of those policies still impacts families today.
Vance’s comments came as reporting from Napolitan News Service shows that 39% of people say their finances are getting worse. That’s eight points higher than two weeks ago. One of the major factors for that jump is the uncertainty of the war in Iran.
Auburn Hills isn’t that far from West Bloomfield, where last week’s terrorist attack at Temple Israel still reverberates among the people there. A Lebanese-born U.S. citizen, whose brother was a commander in Hezbollah, rammed his truck into the synagogue on Thursday, March 12 while 140 Jewish preschoolers and staff were in the building. They weren’t hurt, and security guards exchanged gunfire with the terrorist. The FBI said the terrorist shot himself before he could kill anyone.
Vance said of the terrorist attack, “When something happens to any member of our American family, and this particular incident happened to Jewish members of our American family, it is something that all of us have to stand up and say, ‘It’s disgusting, it’s unacceptable and we’re not going to tolerate it in the United States of America.'”
