PONTIAC, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed, a Democrat and Muslim, is now seeking support from the Jewish community.
El-Sayed announced “Jews for Abdul” in Pontiac on Wednesday night. The website describes the group as “a self-organized association of progressive Jewish Michigan voters” who back El-Sayed’s “strong opposition to antisemitism and all forms of bigotry.”
So excited to have officially launched Jews for Abdul tonight in Pontiac. Together — through our shared belief that every person on Earth has the right to peace, dignity, and self-determination — we can build a world that ensures safety and security for all people. pic.twitter.com/yj3Xdf5AMz

The announcement comes just weeks after 17 Christian pastors in Michigan threw their support behind El Sayed. However, El Sayed has yet to denounce his partnership with outspoken antisemitic influencer Hasan Piker or “death to America” Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi.
Last week, a poll put El Sayed ten points ahead of U.S. Rep Haley Stevens and State Senator Mallory McMorrow (D-Royal Oak) in Michigan’s Democratic primary.
