EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Michigan State University’s Pollinator Performance Center on South Campus Farms is open.
The facility allows students to study honeybees, and research how they can be put to work in Michigan. According to MSU, the center produces about 5,000 pounds of honey, which is sold in one-gallon buckets on campus.

“In Michigan we have over 400 different species of bees,” said Ana Heck, apiculture extension educator at MSU. “We really think a lot about how to keep them healthy so that they can be part of our ecosystems and also so we can have pollination services.”
