The bridge links the United States and Canada between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario. The completed bridge’s ribbon-cutting and opening were scheduled for last month, but delays came after President Donald Trump demanded a better deal for the U.S.
On Saturday, President Trump posted on Truth Social about the “much better deal for America.”
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Canadian government said the bridge “has always been a great deal for our state.”
The mile-and-a-half-long bridge is named after Detroit Red Wings great Gordie Howe.
