DEARBORN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A loudspeaker broadcasting the call to prayer five times a day. Women covered from head to toe in burqas. Signs displayed in both English and Arabic.

This isn’t a Middle Eastern country. It’s Dearborn, Michigan.

A new documentary that examines what it describes as the “Islamic takeover of Michigan” has been released by independent journalist and YouTube broadcaster Nate Friedman. Friedman published the nearly 22-minute documentary on X.

“Are you watching closely?”

Friedman wrote in his post introducing the video, “The video starts with a loud call to prayer that gets broadcast five times a day in Dearborn,” He added, “I went around for 6 hours and found less than 10 people who said they spoke English. Are you watching closely? Do you see how we will lose our nation like this?”

Friedman’s documentary echoes concerns raised by some critics who argue that the growth of Islam in Dearborn and other parts of Michigan reflects a broader cultural shift. They contend that some Islamic values conflict with traditional Western and American values.

Dearborn’s Muslim stronghold.

Dearborn has one of the largest Muslim populations in the United States and is led by Mayor Abdullah H. Hammoud, the city’s first Arab American and first Muslim mayor. The city is home to numerous mosques, including the Islamic Center of America, one of the largest mosques in North America.

Friedman’s documentary is the latest in a series of reports and commentaries focused on Dearborn’s Muslim community. Michigan News Source has also published numerous stories related to the city and its leadership. In September, Mayor Hammoud told a Christian resident during that meeting that he was not welcome in Dearborn.

In October, federal officials filed a criminal complaint against Dearborn residents Ayob Asmail Nasser, Majed Mahmoud and Mohmed Ali in connection with what the FBI described as a planned ISIS-related attack during Halloween weekend.

Democrats and Dearborn.

Dearborn’s isn’t simply an isolated enclave; it’s influence extends beyond the city limits. Michigan’s Democratic politicians have aligned themselves with Imam Mohammad Ali Elahi, who is known for his “Death to America” rhetoric.

Progressive Democrat Abdul El-Sayed, a Muslim running for U.S. Senate, appears to have taken a more politically strategic approach to winning votes. He received endorsements from 17 pastors and support from a group called “Jews for Abdul.”
