LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Trump-endorsed gubernatorial candidate John James is the projected winner of Michigan’s GOP gubernatorial primary.
James defeated businessman Perry Johnson, according to unofficial election results from MIRS and the Associated Press. The outlet reported that early returns showed James winning in double digits in all of Michigan’s 83 counties.

The night also capped a victory for the GOP in James’ home district. Michael Bouchard is the projected winner of the 10th Congressional District, a seat James currently holds.
James will now face Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson in the November general election.
