BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – A Michigan man who allegedly threatened to shoot up and burn down an Oakland County Republican Party office – and kill a GOP youth leader – is in jail after pleading guilty to a reduced charge.

According to the Oakland Press, Ryan Vallance, 35, of Waterford Township, was sentenced Monday by Oakland County Circuit Judge David Cohen to 365 days in jail, with credit for 279 days already served, followed by two years of probation. Vallance pleaded guilty to attempted false report or threat of terrorism. He was initially charged with false report or threat of terrorism.

Vallance was arrested last November after authorities said he used Facebook messages to threaten the Oakland County Republican Party headquarters in Bloomfield Township.

According to police, the threats included a reference to using “Molotov cocktails for MAGA,” eradicating Republicans and their donors and killing people working at the Oakland County GOP office. He also allegedly threatened to “put a bullet” in the skull of Michigan GOP Youth Vice Chairman Krish Mathrani.

Angry About Trump and the GOP

Bloomfield Township police and the FBI linked the Facebook profile to Vallance, according to officials. Police later located him in a vehicle near his home.

During an interview with detectives, Vallance reportedly admitted making the threats because he was angry with President Donald Trump and the Republican Party.

Vallance was initially charged with false report or threat of terrorism, but that charge was dismissed as part of his guilty plea to the reduced attempted offense. He has remained in the Oakland County Jail since his arrest.
