ST. IGNACE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Mackinac Bridge is closed following a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning.

Michigan State Police said several people were injured in the crash around 3:30 a.m., including two who suffered serious injuries. An initial investigation found that both vehicles were traveling south when one rear-ended the other.

“The bridge will reopen as soon as possible once the on-scene investigation is completed,” state police said.

The Michigan State Police St. Ignace Post is leading the investigation, with the Mackinac Bridge Authority and other agencies assisting.
