ST. IGNACE, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The Mackinac Bridge has reopened after an early morning crash shut it down for several hours on Wednesday.

Michigan State Police say the crash happened around 3:30 a.m. Several people were injured with two people suffering serious injuries. An initial investigation revealed both vehicles were headed south when one rear-ended the other.

The Michigan State Police St. Ignace Post is leading the investigation, with the Mackinac Bridge Authority and other agencies assisting. The investigation is ongoing.
