Haskins had a Michigan connection, too. He played Ronald Smith in An Ordinary Killer, a movie filmed around Owosso and Corunna about the murder of Dawn Swan Magyar. Magyar lived in Chesaning and was believed to have been abducted while shopping in Owosso. Haskins also appeared in Ocean of Pearls, which was filmed in Detroit.

Haskins was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where he attended Notre Dame High School before going to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His early acting work included several appearances on The Dukes of Hazzard, including its pilot episode.

He first played Mr. Belding on Good Morning, Miss Bliss in 1988. The show was later reworked as Saved by the Bell, which ran from 1989 to 1993. Haskins kept the role going on Saved by the Bell: The New Class through 2000. He also appeared on The West Wing, Mad Men, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and 7th Heaven.

He is survived by his son, Dustin.
