WASHINGTON (Michigan News Source) — PepsiCo has recalled more than 122,000 cases of Gatorade distributed in 37 states, including Michigan, because the drinks contain food dyes not listed on their labels.
The recall affects 122,021 cases of 28-ounce bottles of Gatorade Lemon Lime, Gatorade Lemon Lime Zero, Gatorade Orange and Gatorade Orange Zero. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, the products contain undeclared Yellow No. 5 and/or Yellow No. 6 dyes.

PepsiCo voluntarily initiated the recall on Sept. 25. The FDA classified it as Class II on Oct. 2.
That classification means exposure to the affected products may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health effects, or that the likelihood of serious adverse health effects is remote.
