EAST LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — A fourth woman has accused a former Michigan State University resident physician of sexually assaulting her during medical appointments.

A notice of intent to sue alleges Dr. Arpit Saxena sexually assaulted the woman during two visits to MSU’s Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Clinic. The filing also names Michigan State University, its Board of Trustees, its College of Osteopathic Medicine and the clinic.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe #4, was referred to the clinic for neck and back pain. According to the filing, Saxena sexually assaulted her during an examination in February 2025. She alleges no chaperone was present at any point during the examination.

Doe returned for another examination with Saxena in March 2025. According to the filing, another doctor was initially in the room but left after discussing the case with Saxena. Doe alleges Saxena then sexually assaulted her again in a similar manner while no chaperone was present.

Doe alleges Saxena’s conduct caused multiple injuries and emotional distress.

The filing outlines claims involving Title IX violations, sexual assault, sexual battery, constructive fraud, negligence, gross negligence, negligent supervision, negligent hiring and retention, and negligent failure to warn, train or educate. It also asserts liability based on express or implied agency.
