Both Trump and former President Barack Obama will be in Michigan this weekend. Obama will campaign in Detroit on Saturday, Oct. 24, with Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jocelyn Benson and Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. That date marks the start of Michigan’s required statewide early in-person voting period.
Michigan has long been viewed as a battleground state, and its 15 electoral votes went to Trump in 2024. Control of the U.S. House and Senate, both currently held by Republicans, remains up for grabs in November.
