LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — MSU Federal Credit Union announced Thursday morning that online and mobile banking remain temporarily unavailable.
An FBI warning about cybersecurity vulnerabilities prompted the credit union to temporarily take its website and digital banking services offline Wednesday.
The vulnerabilities affect organizations worldwide. Officials say they are adding security protections and have no indication that member information has been compromised.
The National Security Agency recommended that organizations unable to immediately apply security updates take affected systems offline until the vulnerabilities can be addressed.
Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server’s file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.
