LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) — If you’re still filling the Halloween candy bowl for Saturday, a few favorites could make your house a hit with trick-or-treaters.

CandyStore.com’s 2026 survey of 3,200 customers ranked Snickers as the best Halloween candy, followed by Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Nerds Gummy Clusters, M&M’s and Sour Patch Kids. Rounding out the top 10 were Kit Kat, Hot Tamales, BUBS, Twix and Butterfinger.

In Michigan, a fruity favorite takes the crown: Starburst leads the retailer’s separate state sales ranking.

If you’re hoping to have candy left in your bowl, buy candy corn. It topped the survey’s worst-candy list, followed by Circus Peanuts, Peanut Butter Kisses, Peeps and Necco Wafers.

Wax candy bottles, Mary Janes, black licorice, Almond Joy and Smarties also made the least-favorite list.

Filling that bowl could cost more this year. An analysis by the Century Foundation and Groundwork Collaborative found that prices for the Halloween candies studied increased 15.3% over last year.

That might make the candy aisle the scariest stop of the Halloween season.
