GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – West Contract Manufacturing, a medical device manufacturer in Walker, is planning a $6 million expansion they believe will create up to 110 new jobs in the area.

The company received a $500,000 grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) to help with the project.

West Contract Manufacturing’s parent company considered expanding its facilities in Pennsylvania and Arizona. However, the strength of the rapidly advancing health and science industry in Greater Grand Rapids swayed the company to come to Michigan.
