GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (Great Lakes News) – Owners of the DeltaPlex in Grand Rapids the arena and conference center would close for good on July 31st.

The venue was built in 1952 and opened as the Stadium Arena before it was renovated and reopened as the DeltaPlex in 1998.

Owner Joel Langlois sold the property for $5.5 million to Grand Rapids-based construction and commercial real estate firm the Visser Brothers.

They have not announced plans for the property.

Langlois said being closed for more than 16-months for created hardships for the arena it could not overcome.
