LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – GOP gubernatorial hopeful Perry Johnson, who was bounced from the August 2nd primary ballot for having insufficient and invalid signatures, announced on Tuesday night that he will not run as a write-in candidate.

The official ballot will list Tudor Dixon, Ralph Rebandt, Kevin Rinke, Ryan Kelley, and Garrett Soldano as GOP candidates.

Former Detroit Police Chief James Craig, whose petition signatures were bounced for the same reason as Johnson’s, has filed paperwork to run as a write-in candidate.

The winner in the state’s August 2nd primary will take on Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in November.
