HOLLAND, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Algae found in a lake in the western part of the state has folks concerned.

The Allegan County Health Department is warning of the presence of blue-green algae in Swan Lake. The department said preliminary positive results from testing show potential blue-green algae bloom.

Water samples are being tested further.

The algae is harmful to people and pets so contact with the water or allowing your pet to drink the water is not advised.
