HANCOCK, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Those who have a connection to Finnish heritage, or just love history, may enjoy a new museum that is now open for the summer in the U.P.
The Price of Freedom Museum is open for the summer in downtown Hancock. It is hosted by Finlandia University’s Finnish American Heritage Center.
Dedicated to the Finnish Winter War of 1939, visitors will get to see uniforms, photographs, helmets, firearms, and more, each with a story of its own.
Creators of the museum hope to convey a message to future generations about the bravery of the Finnish people.
The museum will remain open until Labor Day and is free of charge.
