LANSING, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Rising inflation is impacting prices nationwide, and those high prices are inching closer to people’s trash cans.

Residents with private garbage pickup will see their bills increase as fuel recovery surcharges increase to keep up with rising diesel prices.

Companies can charge a recovery fee anywhere from 3.75 percent all the way up to just under 33-percent based on gas prices.

Some residents are reporting increases of $22 in a billing cycle.
