GRAND HAVEN, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – The return of cruise ships to the Great Lakes is bringing a big wave of economic impact to the area.

After a two-year hiatus cruise ships are back zipping though the Great Lakes making 150,000 port calls, up from 100,000 four years ago. Passenger counts are up 25% versus 2019.

All the increased traffic it is expected the economic impact to be about $120 million to the region. That includes cruise ticket sales and money spent in port cities.
