ANN ARBOR, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Believe it or not, chasing geese is a profession.
Those who chase geese are called “Goose Busters,” and the city of Ann Arbor pays them about $20,000 per year to chase geese away from the city’s riverside parks.

“Goose Busters” uses trained boarder collies to scare away the geese twice a day.
In addition, they deconstruct nests, capture geese, then relocate them. “Goose Busters” are also used at Ann Arbor’s wastewater treatment plant.
Studies from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) show zero percent of relocated goslings return to the parks.
