DETROIT (Michigan News Source) – One Michigan company is doing its part to help with the nursing shortage in the state.

BHSH System will provide Oakland University with more than $20 million in the next five years for its “Nurse Scholar” program.

This will allow 500 additional students the opportunity to pursue nursing at the university.

The money will be used to fund grants, expand lab and classroom space, purchase instructional equipment, and hire faculty to teach additional course sections.

Michigan currently has 40,000 open health care positions.
