FLINT, Mich. (Michigan News Source) – Flint residents are getting some help with their water bills.

Flint City Council voted yes on a water credit proposal that will give every water customer in Flint a $300 credit on their water bill that can also be used to avoid shutoffs on overdue accounts.

Flint will commit $8.6 million in American Rescue Plan Act fund for the program. Flint officials said city water rates are among the highest in the United States.
